Ages 9-11

Creativity is not a force to be reckoned with, especially in the hands of the young. They can create the most moving, most insightful moments that could change the world should they be captured. If your youngster has an interest in cinematography, you've come to the right course. This hands-on course designed to capture the creative edge of campers, while teaching fundamentals of digital video and audio technology. Campers take part in all aspects of film production, including writing, acting, directing, and editing. Then using a digital video camera and professional software tools, campers work in teams to produce their own short film. At the end, campers will have a chance to add special effects to their movies using state-of-the-art equipment.

 This creative experience allows campers to develop valuable team-building skills, which will benefit them outside of the camp environment. At the end of the camp week campers show off their films in a mini-film festival.

Digital Video & Special Effects PLUS

Ages 12-14

For all the screenwriters and videographers wishing to make movie legend with campers their own age, Wonder-Space offers the same great course with a different age requirement. The PLUS program is designed to meet campers at their age and skill level to provide an opportunity to make friends, and record/edit videos at a faster or slower pace. Designed for ages 12-14, campers will have a chance to learn special effects, cinematography, edit their own film, and produce it by the end of the course.

Suggested Prerequisites: Aspiring actors, writers, directors with film and script ideas.
